Go Flames Go... Next Year

Wellll we lost. We lost the game, we lost the series, we lost our chance at the cup. Many a sad fan, very much the sad city. I myself am highly dejected. I was really gunning for these guys, and, well, they came up short. There was a serious lack of enthusiasm on the ice. It seems that the Flames enjoy being underdogs, because when no one gave them a chance, they took it all the way to the cup (albeit lost) in 2004. But what a graceful way to lose. This year, it was terrible. Some good plays nonetheless, and they did make it to Game 7... but i think they felt the pressure as the fans expected something of them this year, unlike last season (2 years ago, before the strike). And this year the fan base was massive. The "sea of red" was no understatement. Perhaps 95 to 98% of the people in the Saddledome were wearing a red jersey. But the Flames were lacking some kind of an effort, a motivation, and it was something that we couldn't give them.
